NSL Food Closet Pantry (entrance to Lower Level at rear of building)

NSL Food Closet pantry provides Supplemental and/or Emergency groceries to feed household for up to 3-4 days.
Ohio Benefits Bank (OBB) food assistance and other benefits may be applied for through Ohio Benefits Bank (OBB) at our site.
Individuals may register as new clients during normal business hours by calling 924-1200.
Information & Resources
Referrals are available for financial assistance, healthcare, and housing by partnering agencies. Out-of-Norwood resources are available.
Informational workshops and presentations on various topics of interest such as health, nutrition, money saving tips, energy efficiency, education and improving family communications.

- Eligibility for the Holiday Assistance program is determined case-by-case with current NSL Education clients taking priority. Others will be considered by our social worker

English learners from around the world come to NSL for empowering instruction.
The Do Right! health initiative is a program of The Center for Closing the Health Gap of Cincinnati whose purpose is to reduce health disparities for Afro-American, white Appalachian and Hispanic communities.
NSL has developed Norwood Do Right! /Hazlo Bien!a preventive health program and activities targeting Hispanic residents since 2006.
March 2008Launch began a series of acitivities and events:
- Healthy Latino Cooking Demonstrations, exercise classes in three locations, Norwood Walking Club, and Norwood Community Gardens @ Linden Pointe.
- Over 400 people have participated since 2007.

Informational presentations and Latino gatherings are held in Spanish at optimum times for our constituents.

Norwood Service League and Ashland Avenue Baptist Church co-sponsor "Norwood Community Thanksgiving Dinner" every 4th Sunday of November prior to official Thanksgiving Day since 2004.

Norwood Community Gardens
SEASONAL
Operation: Splash! is a financial assistance program to help needy children with free swim pass. NSL seeks donations to cover the costs. NSL staff screen income-eligible families, and refer to Norwood Recreation Dept. All donations go directly to help needy children for a safe, healthy and fun summer break.
Donation drive is held annually in May, but your designated donations are welcomed any time.
Norwood Community Gardens @ Linden Pointe is flourishing! Growing Season 2011 has been succesful again. If you are interested in late summer gardening for your family or needy neighbors, please contact Bill Shuler at 381-2112 (lv msg.) for any available space.
